Lewis Attends Forensics and Financial Fraud Conference
MILTON, Pa. -- Neal L. Lewis, CPA and managing partner with Lewis Barlett Klees, PC, attended a conference recently on forensics and financial fraud. It was offered by the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) at the Hershey Lodge in Hershey, Pa.
Sessions included information on preventing, detecting, and investigating fraud; educating clients about fraud; identifying and assessing key exposure areas, and developing fraud detection strategies.
"Because fraud has become a prevalent part of our society, businesses need to protect themselves," Lewis said. "This means preparing themselves with the tools to prevent fraud from outside and within their organization."
According to PICPA, clients and the courts demand increasingly sophisticated forensic accounting analyses. Lewis Barlett Klees specializes in this type of accounting which requires specific tools, techniques and methods outside the realm of traditional training.
Lewis leads the Audit Services Group for Lewis Barlett Klees and manages the Milton office. With additional offices in Bloomsburg and Lewisburg, it is one of central Pennsylvania's leading accounting and business development firms. The Central PA Chamber of Commerce awarded the firm the Small Business of the Year Award in 2008. The company offers auditing, accounting, tax and management advisory services to government, not-for-profit agencies and private businesses, in addition to tax preparation for individuals.
